If you have ADD (like myself) and just want to get to the point of this post, skip the following paragraph and pick it up at paragraph 3.

So she doesn't know this yet, but the older girl ('05 Amel) is going to work out with me. She's fat with a f not a ph. I've let her get away with it because I haven't done much in terms of physical activity in the past couple of months (thank you XBOX 360) but I'm done being a Corporal Grade 2 in Halo 3 and she's done laying around. She ate 3 meals over the past 3 weeks (6 adult mice) without a poop. Last night I said enough, holiday season is over missy it's go time, took her out, didn't care if she dookied on me, and we got her moving around like Rocky in Rocky IV (I live in NH, substitute White Mountains for Russian Mountains, live free or die style). When she stopped moving after about 10 minutes I said it's go time, put her in her cage, and boom, unloaded. It's going to be an up and down relationship the next couple of weeks/months, she's going to hate me at times, but I'm doing it for her own good. She's starting to get the clown balloon tail going and I'm not having it. Mixed greens and lean chicken is what she's getting, maybe Drago her with my computer. I'm going to attach a before and after picture so you can all see how fit she will be.

1 of my snakes is lazy, I'm going to handle her more and get her active again.

Good luck with that - it's difficult to shed the flab once it's on, as I know to my cost (snakewise & personally :) ).

It's probably advisable to cut down on the chow as well - she'll be fine on one mouse every 10 days.

If she's on adult mice, two a week will be what's Supersizing her, rather than the lack of exercise.

In talking with other elem teachers, I realize that I'm not alone in saying that I feel like I've *developed* ADHD because I've got to constantly be on the move, here & there, watching for changes every 15 mins, planning waaaaaaaay ahead -- and making last min changes non-stop, coming up with little fillers for the times when things do change & I'm the last to know, and pleasing everyone from the board of ed to the boss to the children to the parents...and oh, yeah, all within a 6.25 hour day.

It's unreal -- because it has effected me personally -- I can't sit still anymore! I used to be able to sit & read for an entire day at a time...and now, during this break, it started with maybe 15-20 mins here & there, and now I can finally make it about 30 mins. Pathetic! I talked with another teacher who just retired after 30 years and she said the same thing...!

So, while I appreciate that you got to the point in your initial entry, I did love reading your second paragraph -- great humor (or as we say in elem school, "voice"!), and excellent descriptions! I was laughing! ;)

I empathize, too, as I've got a porker on my hands...Maizie is a complete sweetheart, but I've started to work on slimming her down a bit, to give her more definition. A little more handling time combined with smaller prey once every week: Maizie was only getting an adult mouse every week, and now she's down to a hopper every week -- I've already noticed that her weight has stopped increasing after 2 hoppers in 2 weeks, but wow! Was she snappy to get that hopper this week -- and quite disappointed even hours later in the day, looking for more in her tank...:p She's currently 273 g & approx 35"...about 8 g per inch. Hmm, I wonder how that works out proportionally for other fit snakes?

Be sure to post photos & stats of her (name?) for comparison! Good luck! :wavey:
