Hey there just like to start off. I DO NOT currently own a snake. I have a 25 gal glass tank (long) From the bottom to about an inch and a half up there is a reptile bedding made out of shreded coconut husk. There is a hide, a hollowed out rock with a 1 and a half inch circular hole for entrance. there is a water dish in the other corner from the hide, to the right of the hide and behind the water is a 3 point deer antler that has all 3 points burried in the bedding and a nice smooth surface for my "future" snake to hang about on if he wish's. Is there anything else I should know before I purchase a cornsnake? the tank is 1 foot tall 1 foot back and 2 feet tall. The coconut husk bedding is nice and loose and I figured (if he does) he can burrow.

Is there anything else I should do?

Hello and Welcome to the Forums!!!

Sounds like you are almost ready for a snake! I would look into getting the greatest book on corns! Cornsnakes The Comprehensive Owners Guide By Bill and Kathy Love! It is a great book to have and read!

You will want to get a UTH (Under Tank Heater) and put it on the warm side. Also you should get a thermometer with a probe to monitor the temps.

Good luck!

You should also have a hygrometer to measure the humidity in the tank so as to prevent shedding problems and a second hide so you can have one on the cool side and one on the warm side.
