Hello everyone!
I'm very new to the corn snake community, so I really hope I can fit in and possibly connect with you guys.
I just got my very first corn today from my best friend's buddy's shop. In the beginning, I was very concerned with purchasing my corn from this shop because many corn snake articles dissuaded purchases from such shops due to the uncertainty of the care of the animal. However, after talking to the owner of the shop and checking out the corns for myself, they seemed well taken care of. Originally, I came in wanting to get a hatching corn. Preferably a butter motley. However, they didn't have any, and my baby caught my attention the moment I laid eyes on her.
She's a beautiful okeetee corn and just perfect. I believe shes around 1-2 years old. She's not too big, and still has a bit of growing to do. She interacts great with people and isn't shy at all. If anything, she's very active. (I'm not quite sure if that's a good trait, but it seems like one to me.) Also, she's quite the jokester and quite mischievous too. After setting up her viv. she started to play peek-a-boo with my boyfriend and I, peaking her head in and out of the substrate. After, she wasted no time in trying to find the weak points in her housing.
And...I believe I'm babbling too much about her now.
Anyway, about me. I'm a female, if you haven't already guessed it from my thread title. Lol. I live in sunny California, in the city of cows (otherwise known as Corona). I'm a student at CSU Fullerton. And I just recently developed a love for corn snakes, due to their docile temprament and variations of patterns and colors. I was never really a snake person until I set my eyes on a pair of corn snakes. And I thank God for giving me a chance to change my opinion of this species. Corn snakes are a truly amazing snake breed.
I believe I covered the basic information (and then some), but if there's anything I missed, please feel free to let me know. I look forward to getting to know you all and learning more about corn snakes.
