[/FONT]Hello, my name is Jennifer and i am a new corn snake owner. I have had my new addition, Phoenix, since December of '08.
I do have a couple of quick questions...

First...Phoenix is a 'Hypo Motley Het Anery'. I know that 'Hypo' refers to the limited amount of black in her color and i know that 'Motley' refers to her pattern but i don't know what the 'Het Anery' refers to?!

Also, I was curious how long it takes to see full adult color in a corn.

Thanks...I have attached a link to a picture...if i did it right :)

Het anery refers to a recessive gene for anery coloration meaning one of the parents was an anery I think. Anery's have a silverish grey ground color and black saddle markings so if you ever bred this little girl to an anery you would produce some anery's in the clutch. I am no corn gene expert so don't take this to heart, but I pretty sure. As far a coloration you will notice the most changes in the first year, but their colors seem to change a lot being complete anywhere from 1-3 years also, some seem to dull out a lot with old age. Hope this helps and welcome to the forum!

Hey welcome to the forum for one...pretty much what Danielle said is right..het for anery means that your snake is carrying part anery within her, meaning that if she is mated with an anery you will definitely get anery babies..

Can't wait to see pics of your new snake :0) We love pics here!

So she won't necessarily have any anery traits but her babies would?! Is that right?
And thanks! This forum has already been so helpful in answering my questions! I am glad to have such a good resource!
I will try to add some more photos to the albums on my profile...it may take me some time to figure it out though!
