Hey everyone! I found your board yesterday and was very excited to get registered and post!
I got my first corn back in March (an Anery) and just got my 2nd this past weekend (she's red-ish but i'm not 100% sure of the term).
I will post up some pictures and read around.

I found this board because i was considering having the snakes co-habitate. But have since decided against it, at least for now. I will keep them in separate habitats for at least a few months.

Fed them both last night and they both ate amazingly. Just moved up to a larger size mouse so i was nervous.

Welcome to the site and can't wait to see some of yr babies pics. This forum is a great place to ask questions and to learn everyday about corn snakes. Good luck with yr corn snakes. I have 4 right now. I would have 5 but one escaped about 28 days ago. I haven't seen him/her since. So now I am back to just having 4 of them. One in which I just got August 30,2009. U can see some of the pics of all my babies on my profile here. And you should check out the other two Reptile sites on the internet like www.iherp.com which is a great website for herp lovers and www.reptilegeeks.com which is pretty nifty too. Again Welcome aboard!

Awe thanks for the warm welcome! I will check those sites out tonight once i'm home!

And i'll try and get some pics posted of my babies on here tonight as well. If not tonight, then tomorrow!

Sorry to hear about your escaped snake! Hope he comes home.

Hey another fellow NJ person!! Welcome!!! You will love this site..always full of great people that are always willing to answer questions and share their knowledge :) I currently have 3 corns myself! 1 Normal (Maize), 1 Anery (Striker) and 1 Miami (Artemis)..Can't wait to see pics of your snakes :) What part of Jersey ya from? I live in Roselle :)

Yayy for NJ! Did you head to the show in NY last weekend? That is where I picked up my newest baby.

My babies are Corny an anery (Cornelia or Cornelius - dependant on the sex) and Delilah (i have no clue what she is!). We also have 5 crested geckos, a kitten and 2 hermit crabs! LOL

I'm from Edison NJ. We're not that far!

Yay more Jersey people, welcome to the forum! :wavey:

Your redish corn is most likely an Amel, if you search Amel in the search function up top you'll find a lot of pictures to compare. Can't wait to see pictures.

Thx for the welcome Iguana Girl!

I just did that search and they are all very red / orange. Delilah has some blacks and greys in her. I have to get the pictures up...

And thanks for the warm welcomes! You guys are great!

Then she is probably a normal. Did you get them in NJ?

Pics you say?

It was feeding day last night so I snapped some pics of the new girl in action and some random shots of our boy.

NY, that makes sense now, I thought it was an Amel because us Jersey people are not allowed to own dark eyed corns only red eyed morphs so pet stores normally only sell amels and snows.

I think it is a normal but she is a little odd (in a good way lol) with the thin black borders with white around it. Both are very pretty!

Well a big welcome to the both of you! and yep..that is definitely a normal but she is very pretty with her coloring :) it's funny your first 2 corns are the exact same morphs as my first two..I also had a normal and an anery to start out :)...(funny thing is I bought my normal in a petsmart..don't know how she got mixed in with a bunch of snows..but yea..I got a normal from there..lol..strange..Either way..love your snakes :)...

Only thing I would suggest is not feeding them in their tanks especially on aspen substrate as this could get into their system while their eating the mouse..you could always just feed them in the bath tub or buy plastic tubs and use those as feeding bins to put your snakes in..Also feeding a snake in it's home enclosure could cause the snake to think food is coming in whenever the tank is opened and might make it more likely to bite..Just thought I would mention that..alright well see ya guys around :)

We actually used to tub feed but have found that feeding in tank works for us so far with no ill effects. It was very hard for us to get the snake back in the tank after tub feeding. Thanks for the advice though. Always appreciated.

and I just noticed the part where you said you have crested geckos!! I loveee them!!! lol..I'm actually trying to find a female for my male :)... question..you guys going to the Hamburg reptile show in PA in Oct.??

Cresteds were our first reptiles. I've always loved snakes but my roommate wouldn't let me get one, so I started with those guys and I LOVE them. So cool to watch.

We weren't planning on that show since we just did the Westchester show (and the Long Island show will be the same). Will there be different vendors at the Hamburg show?

well if ya watch "SnakeBytes" on youtube...their going to be at Hamburg..also 8Ball Reptiles is going to be there..I would send ya the link but I can't find it at the moment..just look up "North Hamburg Reptile Show" sometimes "Northwestern Hamburg Reptile Show"..and it should give ya a vendor list..

Ok I just recieved an e-mail from the breeder. She is saying that Delilah is a Miami Phase het. for Okeetee. Sooo... that's why she's oddly pretty! :)
