Hi all I am thinking about gettin a corn snake in the new future. I have a few questions. I called my local pet store a 20 gallon glass tank is $45, is this a reasonable price? Are there any good sites to purchase reptile stuff online? I looked on ebay for a UTH and all I kind are the Zoo-Meds. I am wanting to find a exo-terra one. Is there anyway to keep a snake in a plastic rubbermaid? Would the UTH get to hot? I have also read on the forum that you should put the thermometer on the UTH in the tank. Can some post pictures of this or better explain it please? I plan on buying Kathy Love book, but the cat's shots are due next week. I will probably get the book in 2 weeks. Is it easy to to switch snakes over from live feed to frozen? Is there anywhere on the forum that people post pictures of their set-ups? Thanks for taking your time to read my post. :wavey:

Kim,
I'm not really up on glass vivarium pricing, but plastic storage containers make great corn houses. A small 6qt is ideal for hatchlings. 28qt will house an adult up to about 400grams pretty comfortably. As for the UTH, use it with an on/off thermostate. Set the temperature probe on the hot side over the UTH at about 87F. Anything hotter than that is excessive. Switching from live to frozen is easy with most corn snakes, but if you have trouble, there are plenty of folks around here that will give you advice.

Chris
