She's a cutie, thats for sure.

I wouldn't be to offended that she's hiding a lot on you. For one thing, corns are kinda shy and mine hid a lot too when i first got her. She's out and about a lot more now though. Secondly, corns are pretty nocturnal, so she's probably out wandering around the cage at night when you're sleeping. I wouldn't take her hiding all day personally if I were you...she's just getting a good "night's" sleep. :)

i dont want her to sleep i want her to play haha! but i understand i have only had her for a short time probably over 2 weeks now. i dont want to handle her too much. she pretty much just stays in her hide on the cold side. how can i tell if she's sleeping? do they close their eyes or something? lol.... i do not know much of snakes and what i do know ive learned from this site. im 22 years old and this is my first "pet" :crazy02: :shrugs:

hey thanks pal. i am changing a lot of that setup though, i want to make it more of a jungle look. i dont like all the sand and bland colors! besides i want to use some aspen i think with some vines n such... something to encourage her to be more active! :crazy02:

lol, snakes have no "eyelids" so to speak. So it's a little tricky to tell when they're sleeping. Have you ever had your hand in her viv, maybe moving stuff around or something, and she kinda jerks her head up all of a sudden, like she's startled? Chances are she was sleeping and you startled her awake. Also, mine will occasionally sleep while she's out with me for extended periods of time (we "watch" tv together). If you watch their eyes you can kind of notice their pupils drooping a bit when they sleep. At least thats how it is with mine at least. :)

yea I can tell when mine are sleeping, their eyes just dont seem like they are looking straight, just seem like the snakes are dead, even know that sounds bad. anyway, you should start holding it, if havn't been already, like 5 minutes a day, untill she/he gets confortable with you and isn't tryign to get away all the time while holidng, like one of my corns that doesn't think falling from 5 feet in the air will hurt, she used to literaly try to launch out of my hands to get away, which would be making her fall to the floor, thankfully I have always grabbed her, but now she's alot better with holding. have fun
