Hi Everyone, i get my corn on fri ..cant wait. Im not new to owning reptiles, but this is my first snake. i have everything setup, have for about a month now and read acouple books on corns. The only thing im confused about is feeding...ill stick with the Munson plan, but what about if feeding falls on when hes about to shed or in shed?....should i feed him anyway or wait 2 or 3 days or longer after shedding is complete, then restart the feeding schedule after?

Some snakes will eat while blue. Some won't. Of those that do, some will barf it back up (regurge) which is very very bad for snakes, they don't tolerate puking like we do. One regurge can cause all sorts of health havoc leading to possible death for the snake. So the best thing is to wait until the snake actually sheds, then feed. It means skipping feeding sometimes.

Once you see it is in blue, leave it alone till it finishes shedding... Now this is the important part, once it finished shedding, take some pics and post them so we can see :D (I am selfish) then continue with normal feeding schedule.

Bu honestly, a snake can go without food for several weeks with no problem... so don't freak out if you have to skip a feeding cause of shedding. It's no problem for them :)

But seriously, after it sheds, there is a rule that we need to see pics... there is also a rule that every newbie need to post pictures of their corn(s) :D congrats ahead of time and i can't wait to see your addition!!!

Ok i got it ....i wont take the chance of it regurging and causing all kinds of health problems ...so its ok to feed him right after he sheds? well not right after he sheds, that night or the next day is ok, right?.... and you dont have to make up for that skipped feeding? ...lol, sorry to be anal about this, just making sure, Thx wstphal and haarstad i will get pics up very soon...tommarow at 5 i get him. cant wait

Yes, the night after he is done or the next morning will be fine and no you do not have to make up for that skipped feeding... and i'd rather have you anal about it rather than not caring, so it's all good :)

yea what they said but you could also go by 1.5 times their head.Kudos for acually looking and doing research unlike some people.

If you are talking about feeding Jdog, You actually can feed them something that is 1.5 times the largest part of their body
