Yes, if you are keen to get a snake then a cornsnake is without a doubt the best choice there is.
I am new to keeping snakes - back in october i had a sudden urge to get a pet scorpion but was soon persuaded that snake would be a better pet..some research and some noob questions were all it took to make me appreciate just how good cornsnakes are for new keepers.
i have had mine for about 2 months now and i`m really enjoying it - my snow corn (pink-and-white with pink eyes - one of several albino types) eats well,is easy to handle,nice to look at and is generally a happy healthy snake.
just reading this forum one evening should answer most of your basic questions.. this is a great place for info and help

Yes, Corn Snakes are by far the best snakes for beginners, as well as very advaced herpers.
