Newbie Snake Keeper Q's

Hello fellows,
I'm looking into building a habitat for a corn snake...as I read through multiple websites and some on this forum, there were mixes of views on substrate/bedding and on keeping humidity inside the tank.
My setup will be a 10 gallon tank with screen lid and paper towels as substrate. As for humidity, I will have a large bowl of water on the hot side and maybe cover the back and two sides of the tank with Coghlan's Emergency Blanket to retain humidity and temperature (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Coghlans-1.5-Oz-Emergency-Blanket/23543585).
Do you guys think this setup is good for a corn snake? Any advice will be appreciated.

Newbie,

10 gallon is good for a baby, but eventually you will need to acquire something bigger. Most adult corn snakes are kept in 20 to 40 gallon tanks/cages.

Too high humidity can be a problem. If you plan to "Retain Humidity" you'd better have a plan to reduce it as well.
