Newbies from AZ

Hello everyone, my name is Jess. My boyfriend Mike and I are complete noobs to corn snakes. We just got one from a friend who no longer had the room for her, and this is our first time owning any type of snake! We've both always wanted one, and we now understand how people become obsessed with snakes! It's like a totally different feeling that I get when holding her, something I've never felt from any other animal before. She is so friendly and loving, and she's basically like a child to us! We named her Takara, which is a Japanese name meaning "treasure." We are absolutely infatuated with her.

As for other reptiles, we also keep and breed leopard geckos. But anyway, we look forward to being apart of this community and learning more about these amazing creatures :)

I'm in Mesa, AZ and welcome you to the forum!!! Good to have you aboard. Lovely snake you've got there!!! She almost looks like one of my own!! His name is Hiro... Here's an old picture of him... but he's full grown, so he hasn't changed any!

Thanks for the welcome Amanda, and I suppose I can say welcome to this Forum back at ya! :)

Allison, I remember seeing Cortez, he is very beautiful! Thanks for the welcome :D

We ended up changing Takara's name to Aiko (decided the name Takara reminded us too much of the name "Tara").. So she is now "Aiko" which is a Japanese name that means "beloved one" or "little love"
