For some odd reason EVERY clutch this year are maniac assassin hatchlings.... one clutch has been out 4 weeks and only 2 have eaten, going for the anole scent this weekend. tried rat pee but no dice, apparently my fingers are more tasty.... Pics to come soon, got some nice opal bloods and topaz.

Get in plenty of 'remedy' for the shock! Even tiny snakes can cause such trauma you'll need internal alcohol, stat!
Hope your tiny terrors start eating pinkies instead of your pinky soon

Boiled work the very best for me! Good luck I had 4 non eaters. Boiled mice and brown bagging them worked.

Boiled? Like put them in a strainer and pour boiled water over them or toss em in the pot?? Thaw them first or frozen?

I put them in a ramekin dish, pour just-boiled water straight out of the kettle on them, and wait until they go pale and rubbery.

I thaw in hot water for a minute, then pour boiling water over the pinks and serve immediately, with a few slits.

I have two threads which might be of interest- OMG Three Babies Ate!! and Diary of a Non-Feeder.

I thaw mine out first and then pour boiling water on them. Throw them in a brown paper sandwich bag. Follow them in with the non eaters and put chip clips on the top of them. I stick them in a warm room for a few hours. Generally after I eat dinner and then I check them before I go to bed. Seems to be working. Good luck. Took 3 of mine 2 months to eat but they finally did it. I did all the tricks that Nanci suggested but the one that took was the boiled mouse in paper bags.

Thank you for the info all! My fail safe was always rat pee pinks, then with the same pinks piss them off till they bite. They only bite me tho..... I will try the boiled this weekend!!

Personally I've found that some of the most bitey babies are too worked up to eat, so what starts off as me really happy that they are so lively to despair as they refuse to feed. The boiled pinks really made a difference last year to the feeder/refusal rate. Good luck!

Don't forget Ivory washed...And chicken fat scented. Those are my next two best things.

I believe I may know why they are so jumpy and not eating. This is the first year I did not separate the hatchlings until they ate at least 4 times. next weekend will be one week separated and with any luck they will be less freaked out by intrusions.

So it seems that the non eaters at this point are so hungry and pissy that aggro feeding is finally working! Got 15 of 38 to eat last night by dipping the pinks nose in another pinks open belly blood and slapping the crap out of the snake till it bit. Once they tasted the blood they ate!

That's excellent news! I've had a nightmare year before with record numbers of non-feeders, this year it's the other way and only 6 are holding out. good luck!
