No extra heat for my hatchling racks?

So since the husbandry faq thread says that you don't even need to supply a heat gradiant for cornsnakes, i was wondering if it would be okay to not use extra heat for my hatchling racks? Do most of you not have heat gradiants? My room is at about 74-76 degrees. This is the only place that i've seen that says you don't need one. (that would be really convenient) Thanks guys!

Generally, a heat gradient is not needed for a room sustained at 80 - 85 degrees.

People have kept corns at room temperature like you are speaking of, but it is not ideal.

Do I think the snakes will be fine at 74-76 degrees? Probably. But they will digest food much better if they have access to an 85 degree warm spot. Yes, it's only about a 10 degree difference, but I believe it is a substantial benefit.

74 - 76 degrees is what I strive for on the cool side of my enclosures.
