No power!

Last night, my area got the remnants of hurricane Ike. We had strong winds with gusts up to 60 MPH. I was over at a friends house just sitting down to watch the Steelers vs. Browns game and it was about halfway through the first quarter when the electric goes out. Not wanting to miss the game, we all crammed into the garage and turned on the radio in my friends truck. So there we sat till 11:30, sitting on a bucket and listening to the game!

When I woke up the next morning I was sure the electric would be back on.....I was WRONG. So I get the paper to find out if there was a "projected" time it would be fixed. The first estimate was 7 days, the second was 24-48 hours! It turns out we sent power crews down to Texas to help with hurricane Ike, so we did not have enough crews to fix things here. So because there was nothing else to do, I went shopping in a nearby city that had power. I went to Best Buy and got a new camera, A Nikon S550. Then went to Barnes and Nobles to get a book and a book lite to read in the dark. Finally I get home and am ready to settle down for the night with no electric.... and BAM!......we have power! It only took 25 hours for them to get it fixed! I was ecstatic.:D

So is there anyone else that had power troubles in Ohio or anywhere else for that matter?

My power flickered a few times but never went out for good. Here in Findlay we had gusts of 70+ mph and trees came down all over town. A 5 gal aquarium in the back of my truck was filled to the top with water...not sure if we can convert that to figure out rainfall but it was pouring all day. My girlfriend's brother just moved in to an apartment near the Cinci campus and they lost all power late in the afternoon and its not supposed to be back on til Friday. I would go nuts just sitting around...and no food! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Believe it or not, but it did rain even a drop last night. Just crazy wind!

Yeah we have a well, so we had no WATER! Which goes above and beyond not having power! It sucked!

Oh and I was planning to move to Columbus in a couple days but they still don't have power. UGH! :awcrap:

Western PA was also hit hard by Ike's remants! I saw 2 plays of the Steeler / Browns game before the lights went out. Our power is estimated to be restored by Friday 11:59 pm.:devil01:
To anybody trying to contact me please be patient. To everybody else feeling the effects left behind by Ike. I hope the best for you.

OMG, I'm so sorry if you missed the Browns/Steelers game!!! We lost power too, but we're in Indy, so we got it back in time for the game. WTH is up with the Browns? Anyone else think they'll buy out Romeo's contract?

Ok, sorry for the hijacik.

*now back to your regularly scheduled snake chat.*

Just got our power back at 4:30 pm Thursday!!

Congrats!! You never know how much you need electric till you lose it.....Did you get to see the Steelers whomp on the Browns?

*Sorry nothing against any Cleveland fans*

I have family in NW Indiana and the flooding is really bad up there.

That's horrible:awcrap:. Hope your family is okay!
