Normal or hypo or.... something between.

I have a 2 months old baby corn that i'm still not sure if he is normal or hypo. His coloration is a bit lighter than all my normals, and his belly looks hypo to me, but he is much darker than all my hypos and have more orange between saddles.... I want your opinion:

Here's some pics of him, he's a mix of anery x hypo

Looks like a pretty lil hypo to me...I hatched out a few that look just like him :*)

On the pics, it's clear, he must be hypo, but when he was born, he was very dark, I tought he was normal. My others hypos all look like each other, they are more white and bright red and this one... orange and brown... it's strange?!

He could be a normal het hypo. Sometimes the "hets" show through. If you aren't sure, then you should consider him a normal until you've proven that he is a hypo...especially if you are planning on selling him.

I will also concur that to my eye he looks like a very 'lighter than normal' Normal with the possibility of being het Hypo. From the pictures I think he looks closer in color to the normals than the hypo clutchmates.

If he has hypo clutchmates then there is the possibility he's a homo hypo. I agree with the others though. Since it's impossible to tell 100% for sure either way just by looking at him, it would be safest to assume he's a normal poss. het. hypo until he's proven out.

I also think he looks more normal than hypo... and he's for sure het for hypo because the father is hypo. But, when looking at the belly, it's more hypo than normal.... I will try to do a comparison pic, but for now, like most of you said, I should consider him as a very light normal.... and for me he's... something between normal and hypo... maybe this time the two gene (normal and hypo) were ''codominant''!? :shrugs:

I've found some pics of the day he was born, and it's more clear that he's probably not hypo:

He was darker...

Here's one of his brother hypo that was born the same day (big difference)

And a sister normal born the same day (she's much darker than him but...)

Update ... don't look similar to hypo, but different from normal... what do you think

Hi everyone.
I took some pics of the "baby" yesterday (he's 7 months old) and tought i would share them with you to see what you think. He's more yellow and he has still no black borders, but look different from my normals.... :shrugs: Anyway, I think he's beautiful and here some pics of him with one of my normal and hypo from the same clutch:

I have two '05 that i rescued from someone who had no idea of what the parents were like. They are normal but have that chocolate belly like the ones above. Is this a sign of something?

I don't think it's a sign, their belly tend to become like that with age.... but maybe someone can answer you better than me. That's just my experience.

;)

He definitely looks lighter than a "typical" normal but not as light as a "typical" hypo. There are so many slight variations though. I am not sure if there is any way to really prove it unless you do breeding trials, but I will leave that to the expert to decide.
Oh and I think your English is very good. It is actually better than some who speak only English!
