normal to eat pinky live without constricting?

I have two Miami phase babies. One is an aggressive eater, the other is a borderline problem feeder. I dropped the pinky in the cage of the aggressive eater, and I saw him eat it live, without constriciting it. Any problem with this? I plan to feed f/t in the future (after pinkies), so I guess it probably shouldn't be too much of an issue. Still, is it normal behavior to eat a pinky without first contricting it?

Normal?

I'm not sure if it's normal, however, my ghost did that for a while....she would swallow them alive still kickin ( the pinks ). Only when i moved up in size did she start constricting...I dont know if that helps, but thats what it took to make her realize ... WHOAH .... i cant swallow that puppy alive :)

Yes it is normal for some of them to just eat it alive. Some will still constrict other will just go to town.

Mine didn't constrict her live pink during her first meal with me, and I was concerned too. Now she constricts about half the time (she's on small fuzzies now), and so far hasn't constricted either of her frozen/thawed meals - she just switched to frozen last week. Anyway, what I'm attempting to say is I wouldn't worry too much. He'll probably "grow into it" as he moves up in meal-size.

Here's the thread from when I was concerned about my girl, in case you want to check it out:
