Wow! Did I start something or what? The statement was not intended to start anything, just an observation, nothing more. Your snake is absolutely beautiful. I was merely asking if he'd been crossed. The head on yours just seemed more like a rat snake. Please don't take it as critisism. I love the looks of the crosses, and while I feel people should sell them honestly, I frankly could care less! If someone likes how they look and wants to buy it, more power to em. I think the snakes in your photos are lovely.

you didn't come across in a negative way at all, in my opinion. In fact I feel bad if my posts have steered the focus away from someone trying to show off their beautiful snake! I also love the looks of some crosses, although as far as crosses go, I myself only have a couple of creamsicles. But boy there are some crosses out there that have caught my eye! Not to breed them, but just to have another stunning looking animal in my collection!

I agree.

Traci, the reason I felt it was best to donate that "creamsicle" was because I know that I would seel the babies as possibly having emoryi blood, but I could not have been certain that breeders down the line would have done the same. Someone my breed his babies to a corn and then sell the babies as pure corns. I just felt it was best to get him out of the breeding line-up.

Hi Terri! But couldn't the same thing could happen with any of the creamsicles you (or anyone) have sold in the past (the ones you KNEW were creamsicles) how do you know that whoever ends up with them down the road will or will not breed them to corns and then sell the offspring as pure corns?

It's almost like if one feels that strongly about not contribuiting to the "pollution" of the gene pool then they either should keep anything that might be an intergrade/hybrid so it's not "out there", or cull them all! And I know I for one am not for that!!

I am definitely not that kind of person either...I LOVE the hybrids/intergrades! I do realize that some people may be dishonest and do the same thing with "known" hybrids (sell them as pure). I just think that MOST people are less likely to if they know the lineage of the snake. Of course, that is definitely NOT a guarantee.

I suppose I just am not one that wants to sell any questionable babies. Either they are hybrids or they aren't. I don't ever want to say that I suspect they might be. If I have to say that, then the snake in question will be moved out of my collection, even if I lose money in the process.

Gallagher, thanks for the vote of confidence. Sometimes it seems as though people judge you in a negitiveway before they know all the facts. There is quite a similarity to the other corn pictured that is a grey rat cross. Rest assured when I sell the babies I will tell everyone that there is a strong possibility of this snake(male) being a cross.

Luke, I am sorry if it seemed as if we were judging you. I, personally, did not mean to. I just have VERY strong feelings regarding hybrids. I REALLY like them and I HATE that some people ruin things for people like myself simply because they are dishonest. I hope you understand that! I am THRILLED to hear that you are a stand up guy and are planning on doing the right thing!
