Not searching out the warm side ....

Ever have your corn not hang out in the warm side after a meal ??.I didn't see my snake in her warm hide once since I fed her on Sat.
I did see her poke her head out of her cool side cave a few times.
Strange ?,or no...

Mine do it all the time. I know it sounds strange, but they know what's comfortable for them and there's no arguing with a snake.

After a meal sometimes they like to spend a few hours cooler, then snuggle up to warm side, then move cooler..and on and on <G>. Nature seems to tell them when they need that "bump 'o heat" to get the meal moving along.

After Mr Icky has a meal I always try to urge him onto the warm side. He usually doesn't cooperate and he just goes to his favorite hide. I usually find him under the substrate on top of the UTH a day after.

My corn almost never seems to seek out warmth after a meal. I leave him to it; he knows what he wants and he has never had any trouble digesting his food. My python will on occasion sit in his warm hide after food, but to be honest I think that's just because it's the first hide he comes across upon being returned to his viv. I wouldn't worry about it, the option is there and the snakes are best left to choose for themselves.
