Observations

Shaky

Ought to know better
In the past, I have sold most of my hatchlings, keeping only the ones I thought looked the best as babies. However, this past year saw different results. I did not sell all of them, but let kids in my classroom care for about 10 of them.
Well, in hanging onto them for a much longer time, I am noticing that the 'keepers' are not necessarily the best looking ones as they grow. Some of the kids' snakes are looking particularly beautiful, and developing their colors more quickly, etc.
I knew the variatin would be there, but I never really considered hanging onto more for awhile to see what develops.
Just goes to show I can always learn something new.

I know what you mean - my amel, JD, had striking coloration as a hatchling, imo. Of course, when I got him as a n00b, I didn't realize that the yellows take time to develop. Now that he's almost a yard in length, I realize he's just a reg'lar ol' amel to me.

But he was my first snake. And as the lyric goes, the first guttata is the deepest. :crazy02:

Hmmm.... I think "puntificating" involves a foot, while "buntificating" involves an estraneous object...i.e. a bat. If you were "pontificating" you'd merely be philosophizing, as if you were a pontiff...or a Pope. Shall we merely agree you were waxing philosophically?

Here's where we differ - you went the extra letter on me. I don't have "bunts" of steel.

If you were "pontificating" you'd merely be philosophizing, as if you were a pontiff...or a Pope.
And if I were "puntificating", I'd be philosophizing while making puns. As in, "the first guttata is the deepest", or as in that lil' quote above my avatar.

Shall we merely agree you were waxing philosophically?
Wax on, wax off!

Since I actually do understand binary, I'll accede to your definition of PUNtificating. Nothing I love more than a happy pun...play on words...semantics is the bane of my existence! My beloved spouse is an expert wordologist!
