Hey yall I have two questions for yall. I got a corn snake from someone 2 weeks ago. He is 18 grams and I was feeding him every 4 days 1 pinky. Well 3 days after his feeding her regurgitated his food. I didnt hold him 24 hrs after feeding. We held him last night and he pooped on the bed (I know ewww) I woke up this am looked in his cage and he had threw his food up. Also EVERY time I put him back in his cage I put his head first into the water ball and he ALWAYS acts like he is thirsty and drinks water. Can anyone give me any input on this. My other corn eats his two pinks just fine. This is the first pinky my new snake has threw up (he has eaten two)

Have you checked the temps in your tanks to ensure its not too cold (+- 28 Celsius on warm side and 22-24 and the cooler)? Why are you feeding every 4 days, usually 1 pinky every 7-10 days is sufficient. If he does regurgitate a meal wait about 10 days before you try feed again also make sure he has fresh water.

If it is a hatchling keep handling to a minimum they are very skittish and prone to stress.

Are you handling 24 hours after you feed? The general rule is to not handle for 48 hours after a feed. I second the checking your temps - are you using a thermostat and UTH?

Please follow the regurge protocol listed as a sticky. The next steps you take are going to be critical as your baby has regurged twice. No feeding for 10 days, then offer a pink HEAD only, preferably rolled in Nutribac. You can get Nutribac through Kathy Love on her website or through The Bean Farm website. I would also be putting Nutribac in the water (change out the water daily with fresh water/nutribac). If your baby keeps the pink head down in 10 days, offer HALF of the remaining body for the subsequent feed.

Feeding a baby that has regurged too soon or with too large of a prey item will cause it to regurge again. Good luck.
