Don't have a pic yet, cause he is still adapting to his new home, but if a hatchling okeetee phase normal has a couple of orange spots in his otherwise deep red saddles..will those remain (and get larger) as he grows, or is it possible for the red to fill in the spots?

Sorry, but this is just one of those "you'll have to wait and see" scenarios. I could see either outcome occurring. The spots may remain and enlarge, or the red may fill them.

You can't really blame people for not responding to the weird and vague thread title. And your question doesn't really pertain to Husbandry and Basic Care either... :shrugs:

Weird and vauge...

An Off color spot in the saddle is exactly what I am curious about. However, I appreciate your response. What I am trying to do is get some excellent quality hatchlings for future breeding projects, and I am not good at prediciting if I need to pick up some more hatchlings to ensure a high quality breeder or not.

I couldn't decide where in the world to put a question like that given the catagories. Oh well.

My Okeetee has a few spots in her saddles that are not as vibrant as the rest, I figure that's just how it goes, she is a Nov 05, and still has them, so I figure she'll always have them. :shrugs:

I'm sure the thread title is clearer to you. ;) I might have overstated its weirdness and vagueness. Sorry. :) I guess I would have gone with a title of: "Choosing Quality Okeetee Hatchlings", and I would have started the thread in the Morphs/Cultivars subforum.

You can't go wrong with Kathy Love's Okeetees. Quality Okeetees have very dark saddles as new hatchlings, with bright orange spots on the ground color between the saddles, along the spine.

Edited to add: Thick borders can be just barely distinguished from the dark saddles on brand new baby Okeetees of high quality.
 
Thanks Dean. I think I'll wait this one out and see what happens. It's hard to compete these days with the excellent progney that I see just on this forum. Other than the three saddles with the small spots, Jonas (06 Love Okeetee) is a great looking specimen, not to mention Kathy is a joy to deal with.

I looked at the date incorrectly, and I apologize for that. You actually waited about 15 hours.

My point is, sometimes one has to be patient on a forum such as this. We are not always on here and sometimes it takes a while for an answer. It just kind of got me how you decided this was a "suspect forum" because no one answered you right away.
