I've had all kinds of pets and have been bitten by most of them. Cornsnakes are near the bottom of the list when it comes to painful bites. I've been "tagged" by them and not even known it (someone else points it out). Usually if I do get bit it's either a feeding response or a nervous hatchling.
When people find out I raise snakes the first thing they usually ask is about is getting bit. But if I mention my dogs, cat, sugar gliders, etc., no body brings up getting bit and all of these actually hurt.
How many kids go to the ER every year from dogs bites? How many from cornsnakes? I realize more people have dogs than snakes, I just can't figure out why.
