Older Albino Corn Snake at least 25 years old

Our Albino corn snake is at least 25 years old. I can't remember if I got him for my sons 3rd birthday or 5th birthday. My son just turned 30 December 12th. Albert (our albino corn snake) has been looking really thin. He's still spunky and grabs his live mouse with vigor but misses it at times, I'm thinking due to his old age. I'm wondering because he's looking so frail lately that his days are numbered. Any advice? Does anyone hav older snakes and what do they look like in their last days? I'm afraid of looking in his cage one day and he'll be gone :(

Sorry not used to being on forums and don't know if I'm replying correctly. But do u think he doesn't hav much time left?

No one knows. The numbers are against him just like a human who is 105. It still doesn't mean there aren't more years ahead, but the odds get greater each passing year.

I adopted an older girl this year who is 13 (or more) and except for her cataracts she is going strong right now, but I know many corn snakes do not even make it to 13. Each day is a gift. You are to be applauded. Obviously, you have done something right along with your snake's "lucky genes" to have such an aged corn snake. All my best to you and Albert. While it is good to be realistic about the numbers, each day he lives, well it's still life and that is where I believe the energy should go. And it sounds like a good quality life for sure.

If you are concerned, a reptile vet might be a good resource at this point in time. I'm taking my girl for annual check-ups just to stay on top of any developments. I love her so much. I live with the awareness of the birthdays that have already passed and each day we have together is a treasure. I can only hope for 12 more quality years.
