One man's trash...

I adopted a siamese mix from Brazos feral Cat Assoc. they are very vocal and full of personality!!!! You wouldn't know he was a Siamese mix because he is a med. hair black cat but his brother looked like one.

My beloved & much missed FluffCat died in 2008 of cancer. I found him as a young adult cat in summer 1994. He was wandering the street, an intact tom. He was beautiful, a long-haired tuxedo cat, so friendly and sweet it was clear he had been someone's pet & they had abandoned him. I could not imagine why, but brought him inside, fed him a good meal & took him to the vet, where he had shots, tests & was neutered. I lost him too soon, because he couldn't have been much more than 15 or 16, after a battle with colon cancer, but at least he had years of being loved & cuddled. So indeed, people throw away beautiful animals & I have NO CLUE why. I am so glad you grabbed Finnegan & have given him a home. I think he is going to grow into a beauty. Oh, and Clarence is a beauty! Kudos, Shelby, for giving him a home.

He's VERY cute! Sorry I have not read the whole thread...is he deaf? Most white cats that have blue eyes are deaf.

He's adorable. How in the world could someone be fine tossing such a helpless animal in the dumpster and abandoning it. Much admiration to you for saving the little guy, and he is SO lucky to have been not only found, but brought to a loving home as well.

By the way... I love the name "Finnegan". Very suiting!!!

Thanks! :} He's been switched to a Low Res food due to some tummy issues. Luckily he scarfs it down just as much as his previous food. It's just more proof that he must have belonged to someone because he didn't have

Nope, Finn is not deaf as he is not a white cat. He's a Flame/Red Point, most likely a Colorpoint Shorthair (part of the Siamese breed family). There are 3 ways to produce an actual white cat -- a dominant white (W), an albino (c/c or ca/ca), or complete white spotting (S). Usually it's only the dominant white cats with blue eyes or odd eyes that are deaf.

Though Finn certainly does have selective hearing... >_>

CUTENESS!!!

Mine's short haired, but here's my flame point siamX--his name is Copper

I honestly got really choked up reading this thread. The animals we keep put so much of their love and trust in us, and I can't fathom why anyone would betray that trust. I'm so happy you gave Finnegan a second chance and I hope he rewards you with a long life of snuggling and purring.

There was an old man named Michael Finnegan,
He had whiskers on his chinnegan,
Along came the wind and blew them in again,
Poor old Michael Finnegan. Begin again!

I had to!

This is a new beginning for little Finnegan. :)

Lovely rescue. I talked to someone who found a rosy boa thrown in a dumpster with its viv and everything. A real shame people can be bothered to throw amazing, live animals in dumpsters that are probably far away from their home, but can't be bothered to at least dump them in front of a humane society or pet shelter. D:

Cute kitten(s)! Too bad they grow up to be cats :).

I just happen to have a couple of cats someone can "rescue" if they want to--a purebred Blue Persian w/ copper eyes and a pure white Angora....

Those guys set my allergies off worse than 13 birds and 10 dogs, combined! It's going to be hard to say goodbye, but someone's gotta go, and it's not going to be me :).
