I've been trying to figure this out on my own but your advice would be appreciated. Nigel my amel stripe will be a year on July 10th. He's currently on fuzzys but is quickly moving towards adults. I currently buy my frozen mice from petco (gourmet rodent-have had no problems with the ones from my local store) but the price is exorbitant per mouse (dozen fuzzys for $25).
Because the changes in food are rapid while he's growing and the fact that I only have one snake (for now) have made buying in bulk cost prohibitive. Once he is on adults that will change. I'm asking for any people from NJ or Philadelphia (since I live in Burlington county) for the best online places (price per mouse wise and shipping wise) that ship to this part of the Northeast. I've been to many websites and have gotten online quotes but having info from people who live in my area would be more helpful.
The only issue is with having one snake. I can't feasibly buy anymore than 200 at a time, since I don't want the other mice to sit in the freezer for years (the minimum I would feed Nigel baring any changes to an adult 10-day schedule would be 36 mice). Also, I've no one with which to share shipping costs.
Anyone from my area have any advice? I just want to get this sorted out before he grows up and I have to pay even more of an arm and a leg at petco to keep him fed.
