Orange Pigment

This is my Lavender, Snakey. Is it normal for a lavender to have such an orange head? I do see a lot of young snakes in the pictures on this forum with the same bright orange pigmentation from their heads down their backs, is there a name for it? Is it something that fades with time? I can't remember seeing any adults with it.

Many lavenders have orange colors, especially as hatchlings, and as adults, the amount of orange coloration that is retained will vary quite a bit.

This is my adult male hypolavender Mahesh and he still shows some nice peachy orange color.

I am also expecting that Tristan, my '08 lavender male to also retain quite a bit of color as an adult.

MY female hypo-lav had a LOT of peach when she was younger, she hasn't retained much at all as an adult. Here are some progressions pics. I need a newer photo I guess!

That is a huge change! I knew that she would fade but not that much. Great progression to look at as a noob, worth a thousand words. :D
