Orlando FL. area: any good spots for spotting corns?

Going down there in a couple of days. I am yet to see a cornsnake in the wild. I will have time to drive within an hour of or so of Orlando. Even a general area, county etc that I am most likely to see a corn would be helpful.
If anyone has a photo of a central Florida corn they could share that would be fun to see too.
Thanks,

Wish I could help, but I've only seen one "wild" corn and it was at a nature preserve in St Petersburg. They like to hide out in old tree stumps and the like. Best advice I can give is to find a wooded area with water nearby.

I'm in Pinellas County which is about an hour and a half from Orlando on a good day! But, they come right to your door here :grin01:
These 3 snakes were caught within a mile of each other

In all honesty... Im in south florida and i dont know, maybe im not looking.. but it seems to me that I hardly ever see or hear about wild snakes... maybe its because im close to the coast they just arent that prevalent here?! :shrugs: But since Orlando is in the middle of the state and about 3 hours north of me maybe you can find some good ones... I would love to see pics, so if you find any, please post!! :) Good Luck!

Heh, my aunt and uncle moved to Coral Springs in 1967. They were the 10th family to reside in that "little" town.

Now, Sample Rd. is practically like Michigan Avenue in Chicago.

There is alot of wooded area around Disney that might produce. As well as alot of wooded area out towards Gatorland. Depends on how much time you got to explore. I would think if you could spend a little time driving around you find some spots.

Sites like USGS, Terraserver, and other sites offer Aerial Photos, i use that trick alot to find areas to fish, Canoe, and Kayak. Pull up Orlando on one of there sites start looking around the map, Get out a road map and compare notes. Topo maps can help alot as well. Good luck.

I am so jealous... Keep great finds like that to yourself... I don't think I can handle any more...

LOL JK :crazy02: Those are beautiful and congrats!!!

I live about 1 1/2 hour north or orlando(flagler county) and for the month I've been here there's been 2 corns, a black racer, 17 box turtles, 3 gopher tortoises, and a baby cottonmouth just in my yard(2 acres). I'd imagine that's a good sign and I like about a block from the beach.

The first snake now belongs to LizardMom, and the second one is with Cowboyman13, I'm keeping #3 :wavey:
