OSB would not be my first choice because I would think it would bend. and OSB is ...well ugly. So if you plan on displaying it in say...the living room than no. In the basement aright . But it will be hard to work with, screws and for sure nailing.

There is a thread on making a rack out of Walmart bookshelves that is pretty easy. I am planning on make a snake condo out of 3/4 oak plywood.

You know it has a very good chance of swelling up when it gets wet!!

I understand it much cheaper than say 1/2" CDX but there's a reason.

Is there a way i can make a tank out of it and seal it so it wont swell up and it wont cuz my snakes belly?

The oak plywood or OSB?
The OSB

Anything is possable but I thought you wanted to make a rack for tub?
Now you want to make a tank ..cage..viv??

You would be better off using 3/4 finish (on both sides).

Have you ever worked with OSB, cut it, nailed it??

Actually I use osb for racks, has not bent, swelled and can be painted. No it is not as attractive as the plywood type stuff but it works very well.

Well there is chip and then flake so depending on where you live but.
I help a guy for a few months and he used it, I'm guessing for the price, to shead houses and it was a PINA to cut and nail. And I've seen it swell up bad when exposed to the weather.
But if you frame it right and keep it dry I guess it can be done.
But I never got a true answer on where it was going to be used.

Yeah I seen that after I posted, don't know if it would be good for a viv, but the racks work fine. In the snake building here with tubs really no chance of getting wet, besides I have a piece of it laying in the yard aint swelled yet lol. But my luck if i spilled a drop on it in the building it would swell on me lol

This is a viv or tank. 3/4 ply with front face made of oak. Painted and sealed. You can search for rack or viv/setup I know there are a few picture threads of them .

This is kinda what I plan on doing, but it would be 77" tall with each condo being 30"x14"x12.5" for a total of six.

I really like the access. The door drop down and bingo. I can get to anything. that evtra shelf is just in place with shelf holder. Like in kitchen cabinets . I used two at each location to ..pinch and hold the shelf in place. I can quickly be taken out to clean.

Well I had this odd spot/ dead space like a open closet without doors so each viv sits on a shelf , which is faced .....with oak. lol
