Our Lonely Corn and Taiwanese Beauty

LOL. I know I can take bites from 5-foot coachwhips (red racers)... been there, done that. BUT, I do not look forward to being bitten by a TBS or a VBB (similar size and species). No WAY. I know it is coming one day (a bite), but I do NOT relish the thought. LOL. :D

Wow--gorgeous TBS!! I have a new pair of baby "Asian" Beauty Snakes--they are more of a steel-gray as adults. They are a bit nippy, but I figure I'll just let 'em bite me now and get them used to being handled so they'll be nice as adults!

Fred, oddly enough the bite from Dr. Shakalu wasn't nearly as awful as I would have expected. Her teeth are so sharp I just felt a scrape and then noticed my hand starting to well up with blood. She let go right away, too!

You're fortunate, then... I've seen some horrid bites from these Asian Rats... If they hold on, you're in a world of hurt! Fortunately, Kokoro tends to be more "bark" than "bite". :D

Thats kind of funny.. when ours is in blue thats when I'm still extra careful if I need to handle her because she just becomes the moodiest snake.

Lol!! And people say snakes don't have their own personalities... ;)

Oh, no kidding!!! I ran around with Lucy attached to my index finger for a couple minutes once, trying to convince her I wasn't food. The bite stopped bleeding immediately once I managed to pry her off (literally--she wouldn't let go for anything!), but my finger throbbed for DAYS. It's no wonder I'm such a wuss around her.. xD

So tonight we measured Dr. Shakalu and she came in at 7 feet 1 inch. luckily for us she lay still and Katy used some string to get her every inch. We then just measured the string.

Thank you very much. She is about 8 years old now and I hope she sticks with us for a good 10 or more years.

I STILL love looking at her, Sheldon and Katie! Looks like she may be getting ready to shed too... which means continued GROWTH! LOL. I only wish one of my kids were brave enough to try the "string thing" with my Kokoro... as it is, I have to use the sides of her viv to guess how long she really is. :)

Yea so from what we have dealt with Callahan I don't see us doing this with him as an adult. I hope he grows out of this flaring, musking, hissing, and biting. He is a pretty little man but does he ever hate.. well every thing that isn't intended food. I'm hoping for at least some Kokoro attitude. Me might have the kind VBB that gave them the reputation! Haha.

About how big do you approximate Kokoro to be now?
