Outdoor Wood Sterilization

Murf301

Believe The Hype!
Ive seen so many different opinions on wat temp to bake outdoor branches at to sterilize them...can sumone tell me wat a safe temp. and time.

(the branches arent very thick...about an inch or so in width)

250 for 20 minutes. Hey what part of MD are you from? My family lives there in Rockville and i just moved out to CT.

nice, i know where that's at. Oh yeah no problem. 250 for 20-30 will do the trick, don't go up to 400 or you could burn the wood, and start a fire.

Exactly, start lower if you have a thinner piece. I wrap in tinfoil as well, it helps heat the inside of the wood instead of scorching the edges. You can always start to up the temps if things don't seem to be drying, but the hotter the temp or thinner the wood, the more often you need to check it.
