Paradox snow

I found this snake in a clutch from a snow (female) x amel het snow.
I've seen on the web a lot of paradox corn, but it still isn't a proven trait, so I assume also my snake will not transmit the trait to the hatchlings, however in the next years I'll breed the paradox with the mother and after with the daughters.

Maybe a case of personal termanology.. I would assume a paradox to have black spots and a ruby freckled to have red... but maybe I'm just in Ball Python mode o_O... come to think of it, has there ever even been a cornsnake paradox of any kind with black instead of red..?? I dunno.. I see Paradox, I picture the pic of the paradox albino BP in reptiles magazine.. go fig..

A paradox simply has a trait that is not common to that morph...

I don't think it matters what color spots it has. i.e. - If an amel has black or red freckles, it is a paradox.

Exactly.

If an anerythristic was showing red--it would be paradox. If an amelanistic was showing black, it would be paradox.

Since a snow is a combo of both---there should be no black or red. Showing spots of either makes it a paradox.

So if a snow motley has spots of red, spots of black, and belly checkers, would it be a triodox? (waaa waa waa, waaaaaaaaaa) :sidestep:

Ask Hediki, I'm sure that he would be able to give you a better name for that particular condition than I ever could.

LOL...thanks for clarifying my statement for me! I left out the "if an anery has red" part.

It's only a linguistic problem, certainly if a snow that should be amelanistic and anerytristic (an eritros, from greek, without red) show the red this is a paradox, exactly as an amelanistic (a melanos, without black) with black spot is a paradox. We can call him as we want, but I hope will be a genetic trait :)

That depends....what color are the checkers?

What? Where do you come up with this stuff?

i never realy though of a ruby freckled snow as a parodox seeing now that it is. where i got that from was i saw a amel with black spots and they called it a parodox amel. so i just jumped to the fact that if a snow was a paradox it would have black spots not read. but i for got the whole genetic thing of the snow it just passed me. a simple mistake. forgive me :headbang:

LMAO.. Hmmm.. lets see... what if they were brown? o_O Oh, anyone hear anything about that Motley someone hatched out with the belly checkers? I think it was DAND..?? Or is that post so old no one remembers it? o_O lol.. I saw it on Fauna, and posted something there, but to my dismay, Fauna isn't the most hoppin' place around for their individual animal boards..

I think its becoming a more and more frequent occurance...yes, I know that DAND said that he had one hatch out...I think that he called it a 'Mockley'? Also I know that Terri(CornCrazy) has hatched out a few of those. I'm sure others have as well. :)

Well, I had some motley-stripes hatch with faint checkers (this season). I also had a little snow "motley" that had a few belly checkers. I believe she was a motley, but sold her as a snow het or homo motley and hypo.

I believe I do still have some. I am REALLY behind in getting my babies posted, but I hope to start working on getting them up tomorrow. Oh yeah - I forgot to mention - many of the striped-motleys don't look like striped-motleys either. The came from a striped crossed with a motley, but are pretty normal patterned. They are beautiful, but odd, little ones. Here's a few pics:
