Could someone enlighten me about the genetics behind these animals please, can't seem to find substantial info on the WWW....(oh yeah, some pics would be nice 2, just some links to pics, don't wanne hog the BW here :p)

Depends on who you ask. To some people, a pastel motley is simply a ghost motley. Others insist that pastel motleys are light-colored anery motleys. A third group will only call pinkish ghost motleys pastel motleys.

So, there's no real hard and fast definition, which makes it a poor descriptor for a cornsnake morph. If I were you, I'd doublecheck the genetics on animals labeled as such, just to make sure you and the breeder are thinking of the same sort of snake.

Places that sell pastel motleys:

Don Soderburg - the ghost definition of pastel motleys

VMS Herps - the anery definition of pastel motleys

to me a pastel motley is a ghost motley, but I have a girl that seems to defy what she was sold to me as. I bought her as an anery motley het hypo, and yet she has pinkish coloration starting to come through. I'll see if I can get an accurate color photo and post it.

I have a pair of Pastel Motleys. My female is a Silvery/Bluish color, and my male is Pinkish/Yellow. They are both beauitful. I have been told that Pastel Motleys are Ghost Motleys also. Thay are beauitful what ever they are...I hope to breed them next year and see what I get. Should be intresting!

If I get to breed them, should I market them as pastel motley or should I just decide to call them ghost (or anery) motley's...don't wanne bring more confusion in this allready mixed up species....

best way to decide is ask what the parentage is from the person you get them from...when in doubt, mention their parentage when selling them, that way no one gets confused.
