If I had read this earlier I would have stopped and said hi. Scott and I went down this morning. I got a male lavender. I'll post pics after he sheds and settles in. We did meet DeadMouse and his wife by accident at the atm. We didn't spend much time there since we thought we had commitments in Albany. Luckily those got canceled so we got to head home and set up the new snake.

How was it? Grats on the pick-up, Shannon! Well, I ended up not going after all, I would have gone if the weather was a little better, I really need to get new tires soon... and I already fell off the snake buying wagon once this week! Oh well, hope it was fun!

The weather was pretty bad up here. We almost didn't go as well since our parking lot was REALLY icy. We decided to try it and figured we could always turn around. Rest of the roads were just wet. They're saying more freezing rain/possible snow the next 2 days. I'm just hoping it clears before Monday.

The show wasn't bad, seemed crowded, but I think that's because its a small room. Not a huge selection, but a good variety. I almost picked up a blood het charcoal&hypo, but she really didn't work with my breeding plans. Plus her belly was more orange then I want. The breeder had some anery stripes that I liked as well, but didn't have a set up available for more than 1 pick up. There's the Unique Animal Expo the end of Feb so maybe then. I do want to work stripes in somehow, but I haven't decided how, besides bloodred strip. This keeps up, I'm going to have to build a rack.

Scott really liked the setups for the dart frogs. Those will probably be in our future as well. Boy will his son be jealous, since we wouldn't let him get one. Of course, he wanted it to treat his darts for his dart gun to hunt the deer with....the joys of a teenage boy.

Cool, I perused the vendor list before deciding not to go and it didn't really sound like anybody would have any nice morphs of corns, guess I was wrong.
There's a WCCBE one March 1 in Eugene, as well. I won't have an excuse to miss that one! Will try to make it up to Hillsboro too.
On the bright side, at least the rain confirmed to me that the repair I just made to my roof worked, so I can return my neighbor's ladder. Oh well, guess the sunshine couldn't last forever!
Poison dart frogs are so cool, but unless you got the ants they eat in the wild I don't think the captive bred ones are actually poisonous

Welp, my wife and I attended the show as well as Shannon has already mentioned. :)

Due to the weather here in Vancouver, we almost didn't go either but as I had The Beanfarm holding some stuff for me, it was almost imperative that I went (plus my wife kicked my butt out the door ;) ). There were a few black ice accidents along the way, but after we got out of Vancouver, it was easy sailing the rest of the way.

The show was pretty much like it was last year. Considering the location and size of the venue, it seems to have a decent selection and quite a draw of people. Honestly, I was much more impressed with this show than the Portland show and the last Hillsboro show. I know that the Portland show was it's first time and I hope these next coming years it will continue to grow. The last Hillsboro show suffered from lack of vendors due to the concurrent Sacramento show which pretty much all of the normal California vendors that would have shown in Hillsboro decided to attend the Sac show. I think this coming Hillsboro show in Feb will be back to normal. But I like the Wilsonville show. Yeah, it's not as big as some of the other shows like the Puyallup show or even the ones I've attended in California, but I think it's still worth attending and they always seem to sell out vendor tables.

I also wanted to say hi again to Shannon :wavey:
I'm sorry I didn't get really much of a chance to talk to you, what with the whole ordeal I was trying to deal with at the time. But it was nice to meet you and your SO. Ironically, when we were working out a deal with the guys from The Lazy Slither Ranch, my wife had spotted the lavender corn you bought just prior to you picking it up. She said, what a beautiful snake it was, then you picked it up and bought it. This was of course prior to us meeting you. I think my wife would have been tempted to have bought it if you hadn't, so I wanted to say Thank You! Hopefully we can meet up and talk some more at the Hillsboro show should you make it. We'll definitely be there!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi to you Isaac. I guess I never really see your banner and I always get caught up in everything else that's going on, plus some of the other "things" that transpired shortly after we arrived. But hopefully we'll catch you at the Hillsboro show.

Too bad you didn't make it out Jen. It's a good little show they do out there in Wilsonville. I think The Lazy Slither Ranch had the larger variety of corn morphs compared to some of the other vendors, but there were definitely a few there ;)

And now for me. Again I went to this show only to pick up some supplies I had on hold and there was no real intention on picking up any animals (yeah right). But last year The Lazy Slither Ranch had this adult pair of Mandarin Rats that I really wanted but couldn't afford at the time. So I jokingly said to my wife that if they had them this time, I would buy them. Well geez, I figured after a whole year gone by, they'd be long gone. HA! So here they are, the snakes that were destined to come home with us, our new adult proven Mandarin monsters...

Hope to see you all at the Hillsboro show!

Yes!! Nice pick up! Sounds like it truly was meant to be.
You know, it really sounds like that Wilsonville show is a lot better to shop at than sell at... It was by far the most disappointing show of the year for me as a vendor in 07. I know a few people don't seem to like the WCCBE shows much but I always do better at those, plus Paul (the guy who runs those) always is careful not to put me next to any other corn snake vendors, whereas last August at Wilsonville I was directly across from another corn snake table. But I would probably have still gotten a table if I had anything left. Oh well, I missed seeing you guys Shannon and Troy. And Isaac, I realize you and I have both been to probably the last 5 herp shows but I am sorry to say I've still never met you - will have to be sure and fix that next time! Hope show went OK for you..

Yeah!! You did get them. I was hoping you would. Boy did they have ordeals. I met his wife in the line for the ATM since the vendor didn't take credit cards. We chatted a bit and she mentioned the forum and the we realized who each other was.

Lazy Slither did have a nice selection and good prices. Especially for someone newer to corns or who isn't quite as picky about their breeding plans as I am. Getting to see some of the morphs in person as sub-adults was nice. I discovered that I don't really care for carmels and hypo lavenders are WAY to pink for me. But I did decide I like normal lavenders a lot more then I do in pictures. I'm looking forward to the next show in Hillsboro (Feb 23rd). We definitely should try to plan some visiting time.

Jen, are you going to be vending at the show in Eugene or just shopping?

Just shopping... Last year, I had signed up in advance for the July show in Medford, OR. As it turned out my snakes did not lay eggs in time to have babies ready for that show, so I bought some very nice 'surplus' hatchlings from Carol H to make up for it... And just now sold the last 2 of those a couple weeks ago! I think I will not be doing that this year lol. I will definitely be there though as a visitor.. My snakes are still brumating now. I have a few anery mots left to sell but not enough to warrant a whole table at herp show.
About the striped anerys, were those from the Lazy Slither ranch table? I was checking their website but all it showed was feeders. If somebody local has those I might be interested to approach them on a trade or poss purchase if they have nice ones :)
