Thanks all! I really appreciate all the comments.

Spike is a weird little guy. My okeetee pair produced a clutch of 17 eggs this year...three less than in 06. Then the father died about a month before they were due to hatch. Out of 17 eggs, only 5 hatched, over a period of three days. One Sunday morning I got up and went to check on the incubator and saw Spike....all sprawled out in the egg box...not moving. I was horrified to think such a cool-patterned animal had died during hatching....but when i went to pick him up he snapped back and bit me. He's been feisty and hungry ever since.

Luckily for me I have his mother, 2 full 2007 female siblings, and 1.2 clutch mates from this year. I plan to keep all of them and start my own little aztec okeetee breeding project....just to see if I can reproduce his look. He has several siblings with pattern anomalies as well....so I've got the fingers crossed!!
