Hi I have a question!!. I have 3 female mice and 1 has just had babys oorr, but some times 1 of the other two will take 1 out and seem to play with it befor i take it off them and put it back in the nest.I dont know if they eat them tho as i am not there looking 24/7.Any ideas on this strange behaviur??
And remember keep danceing:dancer:

That is not unusual. It is not important that the pinkies all stay in one pile and it doesn't matter if the other females move them around alittle. They are just playing like mommies. The real mom will gather and feed them when she needs to. Remember she has more babies than teats so she can't nurse the whole pile at once.

One last thing, don't play with pinkie.

Sometimes the other females will take babies that don't belong to them to groom and nurse them. There is definitely a purpose for their actions but I don't think it's playing. Sometimes the other mice in the bin will eat them too but as you stated you can't watch them 24/7. I'd leave them alone and just keep an eye on them.

thanks but to no availe all the little sods have gone to mouse heven , not one left. And i could of froze them if i know when they were pinks.
Or well anothe day in the sun !!! keep dancing:dancer:

They are pinks the moment they are born....

I think he meant he wished he had known they were just going to die when they were pinks so that he could have frozen them before they just disappeared.
