Had some of the new babies out tonight and my daughter wanted to join in. I warned her about the chance of getting a little nibble, but she was willing to take the risk. Of course, wouldn't you know it, she got a grab and hold baby. After a few tears and some calming down, she's feeling really tough and cool now. And all ready for more, lol. BTW, she's only 6 (well, almost 7). I didn't break any laws, did I? Here's the evidence. She wants everyone to see how tough she is now :)

Well, now she knows...If she develops into a herper like Daddy she will have her first bite long behind her :)...

Congrats kiddo, welcome to the "Club of the Bitten" ;)

I haven't even been introduced into the club! She should feel honored! :grin01:

Twas a baby corn. Sorry, guess putting this in the general chit-chat forum, I should've mentioned that. Her hand is actually smaller than it seems in that pic, lol

She's a brave trooper! My 12 yr old got bitten by one of our yearling crons - it drew blood - but she didn't have a battle wound like that to show off!

Welcome to the club! lol

I don't know if the Brownies give out merit badges for that kind of thing, but you can tell her that we all consider it an achievement that she handled it so well. :) Cheers to your daughter for being a tough gal!

I remember when I got bit by my first snake at the age of 7. I told EVERYONE!!!
I'll bet she is pretty proud :)

But of course! It was the EVIL rootbeer! lol

I do like Dean's idea of a merrit badge, but if I recall the GS doesn't have a snake care badge. Though it might work into the first aid badge! lol

Thanks for the comments all  . Just an update, her battle wound has healed nicely and is not even really noticeable anymore. Good thing I got a pic, eh. She's still feeling pretty proud, though. And she did just start with Girl Scouts in the Spring, so maybe we'll have to look into that badge thing, lol.
