I just got my first corn and have a couple of questions!! First of all, it is a "super-hypo", i understand hypo, but what does the super imply??
Secondly, i would like to put some sort of climbing or roaming material in the enclosure, like a log or something. How do make sure it is safe for my snake. The place i bought it from said to bake the log. How long what temp?? Or to put it in bleach water for a day, then rinse and put in normal water for a day or two, then let dry out.
Can anyone please expand or give other ideas for me??

thanks in advance

Lots of pet stores sell awesome hides etc for your snake. One of those would be sufficient. I'm not sure about the bleach/water ratio but i know if you soak it in bleach/water, then let it dry outside so all the bleach evaporates; possibly repeat these steps to be sure. Then once dry, you can put it in the oven on about 350 for 30 mins to bake all the excess germs etc off. So make sure to do both methods to ensure they are good enough. Also make sure your substrate(bedding) is something other than sand, or something that he cannot swallow. Feed him out of his enclosure; so your hand entering the cage does not become associated with feeding. Those are just some random tips to help you out!

I have never heard anybody here stated "super" hypo. So I would think there is no such thing, besides a marketing trick. I also agree with Snape on the cleaning ideas. Either way will be fine.

limb

people always talk about baking or soaking branches from outside.
I just cut a live branch and check it for bugs. No bugs, I use it.
I have never introduced insects into any of my tanks by using live branches.
This is not to say that being carefull, especially with branches picked up off the ground, isn't a good idea, I just feel it can be worked around.
Some people don't really want to place a branch in their oven and may not have a large enough pail to soak a limb in bleach.
Then there is a another solution. Go to any crafts store such as Michaels and you can find all kinds of "goodies" to decorate a viv.
Just my thoughts
good luck

Wally World is also a good, cheap place to pick up decor (arts & crafts dept).

As far as the bleach/water ratio goes, i think its 10:1.
Ive never bleached anything for my viv before, however thats what i used to use for cleaning algae blossoms on my fish tank hood...
