Please help find him a home

ciara

three corns and counting
Hey folks, I wouldn't be posting this here if I wasn't desperate. We've got a rescue dog that we can't keep. We've got six already, and we just don't have the room. If we don't find him a home in the next week, he's going to be put down.

Someone abandoned him on our property on Friday. He's a small mix, about a year old and in good health. We're getting him fixed and giving him his rabies shot this week, hopefully on Monday. He's house broken, walks on a leash, is great with people and with other dogs, and is looking for someone to love him. Our best bet on breed is some kind of shepard or blue heeler mix. As I said, he's small, only about 15" at the shoulder, and a beautiful brindle color. Very slim body build and really a cuddly thing.

If you are willing to take him, either as a foster or as a permanent home, please reply here or drop me a PM. I'll transport or arrange to meet you halfway, if at all possible.

I have contacted all the local (and non-local) rescues, and no one can take him. They all want us to foster him, and we just can't. We're full up on rescues (six dogs, three birds, the reptiles, and our neighbor has seven dogs, the chickens, and three horses). Please help!

Aww, what a face on him! Good luck, I hope he can find a nice human to live with.

That's the kind of dog that finds a home pretty easy, if you can beat the time schedule. Of course call all of the rescues around, you probably have. I found a sympathetic ear at a vets office once when I stopped in to see if they had any rescue type resources not known to the general public. They did, I was persuasive(maybe the tears did it), a phone call saved the dog.
Don't give up, try everywhere, good luck!

Our neighbor is the surgical vet tech at the local vet office. They don't have any more resources to try. We're the 'emergency resources' for the vet clinic, as a matter of fact. That's why we have so many animals. ;)

I wish i had the room what a sweet face- I would post some ads theres no way that dog can't find a good home he's adorable.

I've posted ads on Craigslist. I'm hoping someone contacts me who can take him. I just don't want to see him put down. He's such a wonderful, good dog.

I'm a member of a lot of dog and pet adoption groups. Do you mind if I cross-post him? He's beautiful!! :(

Anniston/Oxford area, about halfway between Atlanta and Birmingham. I'm willing to travel to transport, though.

Oh, wow! I'm such a sucker for brindles... If we lived anywhere near Alabama, you KNOW I would be pestering my parents to death... But we don't, and we have "space" issues, too. And money issues. Our four gulp down about $80 worth of food a month, since they're all on "joint diet". Aw, now I'm pining! D=

Our local rescue does that too--the foster thing. We contacted them about rehoming one of the cats, since he and the dogs just do NOT get along (two of our dogs+gram's dog LOVE harassing him, and ANY attention from the other two just bugs the heck out of him!!), but they told us we would have to foster him until they found a home... =P

Good luck finding him a home! You could ask one of the rescues to put an ad up on Petfinder.com, too, if you haven't already... Every little bit helps, right? -shrug-

Ciara, I'll post this on my site as well. Can you PM your email address to me in case someone over there is interested? My webmaster actually lives in Dothan...maybe he knows of someone to take him.

We are really interested. When would you want to meet somewhere? We are in Northwest FL pretty much due south of Dothan AL.

I hope this works out! That looks like a GOOD dog. He has such a sweet face. I love brindles, too.
