Hi! I just got a 6 month old cornsnake yesterday and she already escaped. I have clips on her tank, I just think my boyfriend didn't clip them all the way when giving her more water. I'm keeping my room really dark and warm and quiet. We put flour across the door last night and it looks like she is in my room. She is shedding right now and is very milky but I'm worried because I live in a cold climate and she is so small. Is there anything else I can do to entice her out?
 
If it's close to her feeding time you COULD put a thawed mouse in a soda bottle (I read up on how to make a "snake trap" using a soda bottle and a mouse) and it may entice her to come on out. It didn't work for ME but some people have been successful.

chances are she's curled up in a nice tight ball somewhere very close to her viv. You'll find her. The flour thing is a good idea. Some people use painters tape in balls along the edges of the room, but be very careful when removing the snake as it could hurt her.
 
You can close the door and press a towel or a piece of cloth beneath in case he could go beneath it and escape. At least you will know she is in that room and and won't risk a worse escape (i.e. outside home).

I have heard that thing of leaving the pinkie trap. I guess if she's in blue this might not work...

I have also read about them usually going along the walls and the corners of the room, so another thing would be putting wrapped plastic shopping bags in the corners so you can hear where she is when she touches them and you can locate her easily.

Anyway, if she's in blue she won't probably move and remain hidden until she sheds. When she starts rubbing against everything you may spot her around the room looking for something to scratch on.

Other than that wait until she sheds, but it depends on how active your snake is when in blue. Try to keep the room warm.
 
Are you sure she escaped? We thought ours did and tore the room apart. After some reading I checked the log in her cage and find a tiny hole. Broke it open and there she was.

thanks so much everyone! embarrassingly I think the last bit of advice is right. I got a hollow log that has a really deep crevice that we cant see into and we checked it after I read the comment and its warmer than the rest of the log and she bopped her nose on my boyfriends finger when he stuck it as far as he could get it in the hole. I'll give her a pinky tomorrow and hopefully she'll come out! I've learned my lesson and will for sure cut the end off that log so we can check on her while shes up there. I'm just glad she's safe, haha.
