Hello, I posted earlier in the interduction forum but now I need help here I think. Yesterday my husband bought me a beautiful cornsnake hatchling but I dont know what type it is so I just called the pet store where my husband bought my scalebaby & they say its a poltergeist corn snake? Ive never heard of that b4...i wish I could post a pic except I dont have a computer only my phone & I dont see anywhere that I can upload a pic from my phone. Has anyone heard of a poltergeist b4? The description of my snake is in the interduction forum under Valentines gift. Thank u for any help :)

I've never heard of that morph... Some times stores give old morphs new and exciting names to help them sell better. Check out this site...http://iansvivarium.com/morphs/species/elaphe_guttata/ and look through the morphs...

To me poltergeist sounds like a Ghost... so i'd check out the ghost morph and see if it looks like your snake... I haven't read your description though...

Ok thank you Airidies...i bet thats what they did too :/ I will go check out that website now, thank you :)

There was (is?) a person selling Poltergeists. Although there is another name for this cross ... Poltergeists are, allegedly, Corn x Grey Rat.
Edit: It may have been (or may be) only those of either the Anery, or Ghost, morph.

Well, if the lights in your house start flickering on and off by themselves, and/or you hear unexplained heavy footsteps late in the night, personally, I would get rid of that snake........ :grin01:

They were selling poltergiest corns at a reptile show I went to. Ive never heard of them so I asked and I think the guy said they were Ultra Anery im not 100% sure it was a while ago.

@ taxman...oh really, ok I will look at pics of those too then. I think I figured out what mine is thou...a snow corn..

@ Beautifullywild, thank u for those pics, mine looks just like the hatchlings! Im not to sure about the yellow thou...im guessing mayb that color might come in later as she grows? So the people at the pet store have no idea what they are talking about :/ . So I went from a poltergeist ro a ghost to a snow lol, thanks everyone for your help! :D Now hopefully soon I can get a computer & post pics for you all :) ...

Thats the sad part in this hobby alot of pet stores and non knowing breeders label snakes for what they think and not what they really are. Good luck with your snake be careful they are really addicting.

The yellow comes in on a lot of different morphs but it does come after they grow! I am partial to snows. Our first corn snake was a rescue from Petco. Tiny lil guy, he turned out to be a coral snow with paradox.

@ taxman...lol yea im already addicted..cant help it, they are just so awsome! :D

@beautifullywild...wow, thats really cool you had a rescue snake, that must have been interesting..what is paradox?

Paradox is a pigment that shouldnt be there, simplest way to explain it.
Here is Piglet. The red is the paradox
