Poop uses?

pwargcm

wrong way
lol. ok, so that title has got some wondering eyes i bet. well the question is, do any of you have any uses for poop. my uncle has a bat room off his garage where a ton of bats live and we shovel it out every winter after deer season and put it in 5 gallon pails and use it as fertalizer.

i was cleaning out the roach colony tonight and im thinking of making a second one as this one seems to be getting crowded. and i thought, hmm, roach poop looks a bit like guano. i wonder if i could save all of this poop and use it as fertalizer next year. what do you guys think. would roach poop be as good at bat poop?

any other useful uses for excrement?

Tee hee... "crappy" thread.

Anyway, I'm not sure about roach poo being good for plants. I think, if anything, it would be very neutral tword them. Not sure if there is anything useful to do with roach poo... if you DO find anything interesting to do with it, let me know. I have lots hanging around in my roach tanks. XD

lol. so since its 6 or so am and i just am getting around to this. i think i will get back to you guys. im gonna collect as much poo as i can. and since foods around it im gonna keep that in it too. maybe thatll be an all around balance to keep it nutritional. all i know is im gonna try it. a lot of poop to go around.

I have been contemplating using roach and snake fecal matter in compost. I haven't tried it yet, so I cannot let you know how it works, but I do not know how it could do anything but help.

I compost all the laying substrate from eggs ( vermiculite and sphagnum moss). The one thing that occurred to me is that if there is any Salmonella in there it could theoretically be transferred to my vegetables. I only transfer 'new' compost into the garden at the end of the growing season and living in Ohio I would imagine the too long, freezing winters kill it, at least I hope so. Anyone know anything about this?
I'd hate to be reduced to just throwing it at random passersby.

Salmonella, and certain other things would be my concern. I'd do a google search and read about it. Off hand, it is my understanding that harmless, compost-helpful bacteria species crowd out and impede the growth of negative impact pathogens.

I'd hope that the heat generated during the composting in a well-constructed compost heap would kill off most nasties, but I'd want to check out the salmonella aspect before using it on food plants, personally.

I have heard that Stinking Goddesses like to finger paint with theirs. Stucco the inside of their vivs like downtown Santa Fe. ;)
