Poop???

Corny Bandit

New member
Hey everyone! Silly question...what does cornsnake poop look like? We've had Bandit for almost a month and he has eaten 3times (will eat again later today making 4x's) but I haven't noticed anything in his viv that would resemble poop!?! What/where should I look? How often are they supposed to? He's been in his water which gets changed everyday, but nothing unusual floating. Thanks

Is he a hatchling on pinks? If so all you may find is a little crumbly stain, like bird poo!

yes, he is a hatchling on 1 pinkie a week (he's 12" long). Would it be whitish like bird poop? solid? runny? Maybe I am just not seeing it in his substrate since his bedding is light colored

Yeah it may be whitish like bird poop, those are the urates, the poop should be liquid at first, although can completely dry out with abit o time. Don't worry if your not seeing the poop, lots of people have a hardtime spotting it at first with hatchlings. If your only feeding one pink a week then it wont be poo'ing much anyway. I fed my hatchling on a pink every 5 days :shrugs:

Janine is right but you will not find much, at one pink a week he is using most of the pink. You might look down in the bedding but it dries pretty quick. If he is eating good I wouldn't worry about it.

He eats with no problem! Should he be eating more than 1 every 7 days? Depending on where I look up information I get different information. Don't want him to be hungry.

You could safely go to every 4-5 days, but if their healthy they always look like they are hungry, thats a good thing.
