President Ford's Funeral

I was under the impression that the funeral in Grand Rapids would be private but there would be time for people to view/pass the casket to pay their respects.

Is the public funeral tomorrow? I know there is a private one that is probably going on now there.

No. As stated it was a private funeral, however I did go this morning to pay my respects at the museum. Was very moving, something I will never forget.

Glad you got to go. I heard that there was a private funeral there and a public viewing. I bet there were a lot of people there.

Im sure you will never forget that.

R.I.P Mr. Ford

...sighing... the missing man formation gets me every time :( Lovely service, although I miss the bagpipes playing Amazing Grace.

Thank you all. I was unable to watch the internment service yesterday as I had to work last nite and had to get a nap beforehand. I just now watched it on the internet, and I think i've cried as many tears watching that as I did 2 months ago when my own mother died. To see Betty, who up until now seemed so stoic and together, show emotion along with her children just broke my heart. Also to watch the missing man formation and hear taps. MAN OH MAN, what an emotional service..

REST IN PEACE MR PRESIDENT!
