Provent a Mite

New Avatar!
I just bought some Provent a Mite for my BP which came in with a few mites. I've never used it before and it says not to directly spray it on the tank, but on the substrate. But my substrate is just paper towels, so should I spray them or just go ahead and spray out the whole tank? It doesn't make sense to me why I can't spray the glass???? Anybody know or have any experience with the stuff?

I spray the entire cage. I just remove the snake, water bowl and substrate then give the entire cage a light spray including the top. Then I let it air for a minute before returning the substrate (I use paper towel while treating), water bowl and snake. It's never been a problem for me doing it this way. I just treated my entire collection this way this week due to getting a bag of aspen that was loaded with wood mites. If you have any questions or concerns though, you should call or email them before doing anything. They are pretty nice folks to deal with.

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure that spraying directly on the tanks wasn't going to have a toxic effect on my snake (I'm not sure why it would,,I just worry)
