Question about spots...

Saffleur

Squamata Serpentes
Or possible mites...I hope not.

I was looking over my corn today while giving him a little exercise and taking pictures.

I know mites tend to stick around the nostrils, eyes and gular folds but one never knows...

Always a wiggly piggly this one is but it just looks like discoloration on the ventral scales. Nonetheless here's the pic.

I'm guessing it's just a discoloration since no ones replied as of yet and theres been 40 views...is that common in corns?

When I first saw this post I figured people would jump all over you asking for a better photo and that's why I'm checking this thread again. It's not unheard of for there to be a black fleck here or there. I have a snow that has one black scale about an inch behind her head. As far as mites go I've never had them, so I'm usless to you in that area. I'd suggest trying to get a clearer photo and see if that generates some responses. Best of luck to you!

Can't tell if it's a Bloodred/Stripe/Motley morph, but it doesn't matter either way. All are susceptible to get "speckling" of color on the plain white belly. The orange coming in towards the tail is normal as well.

I can in a few days, fed last night so after I know for sure he's pooped I'll get him out and take another pic. I think it's really just discoloration.

The snake does not soak but spends most of the time hidden in one of the log hides. see him sneak out for a drink once and awhile but theres never any spots in the water etc.

I'll grab another pic in a few days. Camera doesn't do micro too well but we'll see.
