Question about vines

I want to put Flukers vines in my snakes tank. I don't want to use the suction cups with the metal hook. I was going to take the metal off. whats the best way to attatch the vine to the suction cup.
 
With those vines I buy one of the bendy brown leafless vines, wind the leafy vine around it, and then form the whole thing into a U-shaped serpentine along the sides and back. I get the smaller vines, silk, with the suctioncup without the metal part to go on the ends of the viv.
 
The nice thing about it if you do it that way is the whole thing lifts out for cleaning or snake-finding.
