Question on F/T ouse weights

PnyKlr

World's Tallest Midget
I am going to begin prepping my snakes for the bump to adults. Previously, they had 1 pinky (2g), then 2 pinkies (4g total) for about 5 feedings, and then was bumped to a fuzzy (5g). The adults are 19g and are currently looking as if they are bigger than the 1.5 rule.

Would it be okay to feed 2 fuzzies in preparation for an adult feeding? The lumps after one fuzzy are not visible for very long. Yesterday, I fed a fuzzy and a pinky (7g total), and there is not much of a lump left.

I wasn't sure if a back to back fuzzy feeding is too "long" of a lump, or if only width counts.

Hoppers are between fuzzies and small mice. According to Dean's feeding chart, hoppers weigh 9-12g. You should feed hoppers after fuzzies.

Forgot to mention that I can't get hoppers locally, so I am stuck dealing with adults, fuzzies, and pinks. There are no peach fuzzies, either.

Any suggestions for the "hopper impaired"?

I would prefer to get my F/T locally for right now, mostly because buying in bulk isn't exactly "right" for me at the moment (I was going to partner with someone for an order, but that fell through).

My underlying question is: If a fuzzy is not too wide (less than 1.5 times the width), can feed two fuzzies? They will not be too wide, but I would be stepping the weight of the food (from 5-7g to 10g...to prepare for 19g).

Sorry to bump this up, but I'd like to have this answered (if possible) before my next feed and for later use.

Can I feed two fuzzies back-to-back if there is no visible lump after 18 hours? Adults are too wide, and I can't get hoppers locally (and I can't order them in time for the next feed).

Can a lump be "too long"?

Yes you can feed two fuzzy back to back.
Even if you don't feed at all for a week your snake will be fine until your on-line order comes in, which usually takes a week or less.

Thank you Lenny, Master of Hyperlinks!:) I have two fuzzies in the freezer right now, ripe for a feeding, and I'd like to get these outta here.

Thanks again for the info!

Rockford isn't TOO far from Streamwood, just hop on 90 and drive to the next Lee Watson Reptile Swap in Streamwood on July 1. You can buy bulk frozen in any size or live in any size at pretty good prices, compared to buying locally. Prices are a bit higher than online but you dont pay shipping so its still a much better deal.

Going from fuzzies to adults is a large jump, i would just feed 2 fuzzies for a while and maybe even goto 3 fuzzies before going to adults if the snakes just moved up from fuzzies then it is not ready for adults
