Hello everyone! I have a question on shedding and growth. My snake last shed on June 12th. I had him/her for a little over a week when this occurred. My snake is now displaying signs of shedding once again (bluish haze in eyes) and it's now July 1st. Is this normal? Could it be due to "growth spurts".
I've mentioned before that I have no idea on how old this snake is but s/he's at least 3 feet long and was eating feeder mice once a week when I got him/her. The snake seemed hungry after processing his meal so I was feeding him every 4-5 days. But after every meal s/he seemed to be looking for more, so on Monday June 27th I decided to see if the snake would be interested in consuming 2 feeders. After thoroughly consuming the first mouse, I offered the second which was quickly gobbled up. Afterwards s/he seemed much more content and was promptly put back in the viv for a good night's rest (and digestion). I don't want to over feed, and the snake hasn't regurgitated, but I'd like a little input on what the rest of you think.
I'm assuming feeding habits are going to factor into how often a corn sheds. Am I correct on this?
Also, just to let you know, this snake is by no means overweight. Looks fit like most of the other snake pics I've seen posted on this site. Any input/advice/thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks all!
