questions about flexwatt

I've read alot about flexwatt being used in rack systems. I'm currently using glass aquariums. The 10 gal tanks maintain just fine with light bulb for heat, but bulbs don't keep the 20 long and 29 gal warm enough by themselves up here in the north, so rather than use bulbs and uth, I want to switch to uth only. I understand they can get quite hot, so I'd have them each with their own rheostat.

I've seen Zoo Med and Cobra UTH, but was wondering if flex watt is used for these types of vivs and if so, being flimsyer than the other 2, can it be taped to the glass with styrofoam under it for insulation? Let me know how some of you have used it.

I've also seen somewhere here about uth's being taped to ceramic tile and then under the viv? I'll check the "search" on this one, but if you're reading this, feel free!

Thanx,
