Ranco ETC-111000 for snakes?

I might just bite the bullet and invest in the Ranco ETC-111000-000. I hate to spend the money on the 'pre-wired', but I am very clueless when it comes to electricity and the like. maybe if there was a photo step-by-step online for it, I'd do it.

Where are you ordering yours from TripleDuck? I've been trying to find a good place online but I haven't been able to find any yet.

Well, it's probably not the most inexpensive place to get it, but I just ordered mine from the ranco site. If you don't mind shopping on ebay, I expect they will have better pricing.

On the ranco site, I think I paid $10 for shipping, USPS 3 day priority. Some of the other methods of shipment were really expensive, though.

Reptile Basics is a cool site to check out, but I think the Ranco site had it for a few bucks cheaper.

This is a bit late, here are two links with pictures of how to wire the Ranco. I did mine the other day with a 15' grounded extension cord from Lowes, I think it was $10. The one link says you don't need to ground it but, I went with the grounded version.

Basically I cut the cord so I had a 5' and 10' length with the longer end for the part you plug into the wall and the shorter length is where I plug my heat mats into. Then wire as per the instructions below.
